Divination before spell work

It is necessary to divine before performing any spell work to see possible outcomes of your work. This is done to avoid casting any work that may end up working in unexpected ways. It also helps with highlighting any adjustments you need to make before going through with the spell, if it even looks like you can go through with it at all. My favorite form of divination involves the use of cards to read the surrounding energy. I divine with my ancestors, spirit guides and deity to determine how I should proceed with my working to get the desired results. Some alternative forms of divination are, but not limited to;
Cartomancy
Astrology
Claire senses
Pendulum
Osteomancy
Runes
Tea Leaves
Palm Reading
Water Scrying
Numerology
Mirror Scrying
Crystal Ball Readings
Bibliomancy
This is not a comprehensive nor exhaustive list of the forms of divination as there are many different forms, too much to be covered in this post. Some methods may work for one person while another person might find difficulty with that same method. It takes practice to figure out what works best for you. I would advise doing further research on the many forms of divination and trying something out that you think would best fit you and your circumstances.
You can craft a standard question protocol that you utilize before any working or you can go with the flow and ask whatever questions seem relevant to the moment, or a combination of both. Some questions I like to ask before doing any spell work or whilst crafting spells are;
What outcome will this blend of herbs have?
Do I need to add or subtract any elements?
What is the energy of this intention?
Am I in the right mindset to perform this spell?
Is my space protected enough for this spell?
These questions are subject to change depending on what I'm doing and I often make up questions on the spot as the conversation develops. Once I feel secure enough to proceed I would begin the process of setting up for my spell work. If I don't feel like I have the green light to perform the spell I will go back to the drawing board and edit my spell whilst doing divination on how it can be improved. If I skip these steps I often find myself making mistakes during my spell work that end up letting me know something is not right. It's not fun to get to this point and have wasted materials doing the spell work just for it to end up falling through. Hence the importance of checking for blind spots and getting the green light to proceed with your working.
Unfortunately, I know many people would not be versed in the art of divination as it is something that takes practice, and often not something everyone easily taps into. I offer Consultation Sessions focused on unpacking the outcome of your spell if you proceed as you are at the moment. It includes a reading that will provide information on the following areas:
Present State- Your current energy and situation.
Intention for the outcome- What you are hoping to happen once you complete the spell.
Obstacles- The external factors that could hinder your spell.
Positives- The external factors that are helping to actualize your intentions.
Potential Outcome- A possible outcome for the spell depending on the path you are on right now.
Advice- What you should focus on to help shift the spell in your favor.
It will also include product or item recommendations, adjusting any intention for the spell and recommending supplemental workings to ensure the results are what you desire. At this point you should begin drafting your spell in detail if you have some knowledge of magic, and if not you can save this checklist to use as a draft for your spells:
You can begin by writing your intention in detail to serve as a starting point for how you want the spell to play out. The more detailed you are the better you will be able to direct the energy in the spell and avoid unnecessary outcomes. Once you know what you want to happen, you will need to list the items you can use or might need to achieve the spell you want. This will save time down the road when you are actually in the process of doing the spell. The last thing you will fill out is the time and date you begin and end the spell. This will help you to investigate all external forces that could have impacted the spell in any way, like the phase of the moon, day of the week or the movement of the stars. Having documented information is necessary in case you want to repeat, change or undo a spell. You should keep a journal or Book of Shadows to track your spells and their outcomes.
